Two vibrant Sunday afternoons spent exchanging our favourite cookbooks, a glass of wine in hand, and within the company of likeminded strangers. Our Cook Book Swaps have been our 2026 highlight. A new type of gathering for us, but with a shared essence of familiarity. Something a little less structured, but just as intentional and uplifting.

Everyone arrived with a sentimental cookbook; one that held meaning, with pages tabbed, and marks from oil-stained fingers gently marking the pages from seasons of repetitive use. We wrapped each book and asked its owner to write a blurb for their book, to entice its new owner. As a group, we read the blurbs and selected the description that resonated to us the most. With a new book in-hand, we shared conversations centring food, rituals around the kitchen, and recipes that remind us of home.

We have all interacted with cook books before; sometimes with nostalgia and knowing, others with confusion and dismay, but always with a subconscious trust that you are going to be lead on a journey. Our Cook Book Swap was an invitation to inspire food-lovers next quest in the kitchen, sparked by someone who has walked that path before.
