"The Summer Soirée completely shifted the way I think about food. Learning about foraged ingredients and tasting them woven so beautifully into each dish gave me a whole new appreciation for what’s growing around us.

The Summer Soirée was one to remember. Still beaming.

Across 6 hours, we spoke openly, dug deep, became curious, asked questions, listened intently, and dined slowly at Lumen People.

The workshop to commence the experience gave us all the opportunity to explore the depths of seasonality, offering us as consumers insight and alternatives in sourcing sustainable, ethical, and local produce; then looking at ways to preserve the seasons finest over the months that follow.

The communal dining experience that followed brought us all together with nerves and excitement. 25 strangers in a room, vibrantly connecting, with conversations and laughter singing out from a little pocket of North Melbourne. A shared meal, curated using locally sourced produce from Dog Creek Growers, Five Tales Farm, Days Walk Farm, Natoora and Meatsmith, formed the foundation for us to connect, deeply and intentionally.

Thank you all for your openness and curiosity; I hope that gatherings like this start to become the norm, not only in Melbourne, but globally, slowly making steps to bring us all fundamentally closer.
